Build on Procore with an app framework and secure APIs.
Overview
Build Procore apps from three families of capabilities — Agentic (in closed beta), Data Connector, and Embedded — and combine them in one app. See Choose an App Type.
For the latest news and updates, see our Announcements and Notifications pages.
How Apps Are Distributed
An app either installs privately into one Procore account or is listed on the Marketplace. The line between them is commercial distribution.
Custom apps (private)
Not for commercial distribution. A customer builds one for its own company, or a consultant or systems integrator builds one under contract for a single customer. You install it with an Installation Key, without a public listing. See Install a Custom App.
Procore doesn’t vet or certify custom apps. The installing company relies on its own relationship with the developer.
Marketplace apps (public)
For anything you sell, license, or reuse across customers, including a single-customer pilot before you list. Marketplace apps go through Procore’s certification, and anyone can install them from the Procore App Marketplace. See Technology Partner Overview.
For how each path reaches production, see Verification & Production Access.
Get Started in 3 Steps
- Create a Developer Account. Register a new account and verify your email.
- Create your app. In the Developer Portal, select Create a New App and add your components.
- Save a version and install it. Saving a version generates an Installation Key. Use it to install a custom app in your company.
For a hands-on walkthrough, see the Quick Start Guide.
Use Your Developer Sandbox
Every app you create includes a Developer Sandbox for testing. Only the app creator is added by default.
To add people, see Add a User Account to the Company Directory.
Which APIs You’ll Call
Your app calls the REST APIs for transactional work — creating, reading, updating, and deleting records — and authenticates with OAuth 2.0 through a Data Connector. Browse them and download the OpenAPI (OAS) spec from the REST API Overview.
For AI workloads, choose by which side starts the conversation:
- Procore AI reaches out to your system. Add the Agentic capability. See Build an Agentic App.
- Your product reaches in for semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or agents over a customer’s Procore data. See Agentic APIs, in a Design Partner pilot.
Not sure which API fits? See the API Usage Guidelines.
